Infant Menu by Name on My Food Program+

This article is about creating an infant menu by name, which is sometimes also called an infant feeding record. Our infant menu by name feature allows providers or centers to plan menus in advance that covers all infants in care and then the day of the meal service and afterwards, providers or centers can select exact food items and precise amounts for individual infants.

If you ONLY need to plan an infant menu that covers all infants in care but does not link specific amounts to individual infants, please refer to our article on Infant Menu by Date.

We have two methods for entering infant menu by name:

1. Infant Menu by Name - All Participants: this method will show all children under 12 months old on the screen. When the provider or center completes the infant food items, we will check the child in for a meal. This option does NOT allow a preplanned menu to populate the infant menu by name.
2. Infant Menu by Name - Based on Meal Attendance: this method will only show children under 12 months old on the screen who have been checked in for a meal. In other words, the provider or center must do a meal count first before they can enter the infant menu by name. This option DOES allow a preplanned menu to populate the infant menu by name screen.

• Tap or click on "Infant Menus" from the main dashboard.

• The date will populate to the current date and the meal to the first meal of the day. You can change the meal date or meal type.
  
• If it is a date in the future, enter your planned menu by referring to the instructions in the Infant Menu by Date.
• If it is a date that is today or in the past, you will see a list of participants under 12 months and you can proceed with selecting food items

• If the infant is developmentally ready for fruit or vegetable, then there will be an asterisk in the box for the food selection
• If the infant is developmentally ready for infant cereal and/or meat/meat alternate (or grain for snack) then there will be an asterisk in the box for the food selection
• If the infant has not been checked in for this meal yet, adding food items will create their meal count

There is no save button in My Food Program+. The border around the box will change from yellow to green to indicate that the data is synced. If it turns red, an error message will be displayed telling you what is wrong.

• The date will populate to the current date and the meal to the first meal of the day. You can change the meal date or meal type.
• If it is a date in the future, enter your planned menu by referring to the instructions in the Infant Menu by Date.
• If it is a date that is today or in the past, you will see a list of participants under 12 months that have been checked in for the meal and you can proceed with selecting food items. (If you do not see any participants on the list that means that no infants have been checked in for the meal yet)

• If you have entered a preplanned menu (infant menu by date) then the food items and amounts will be automatically populated for you and you may change them if necessary.

There is no save button in My Food Program+. The border around the box will change from yellow to green to indicate that the data is synced. If it turns red, an error message will be displayed telling you what is wrong.
