Master List of Foods in the Database with CN Labels or Product Formulation Statements
We continuously update our Food Database and it can be helpful to know which items are already in the system.
As a reminder, our extensive list of food items only includes those that meet the CACFP meal pattern requirements. Our list is broken out into the five food group categories, separated by infants or children/adults, and includes options for measurements (cups, ounces, lbs, #10 cans, etc).
Don't see the food you're looking for? We're happy to add it! Please send the CN Label or Product Formulation Statement to [email protected] and we will add it within 2 business days. Any new foods that are added to our database are added to the Excluded Foods List by default so as not to disrupt the operations of other sponsors.
The spreadsheet linked above is updated each quarter. We send an email that summarizes the new foods that have been added based on customer requests and identify food items with expiring Child Nutrition labels. You can also view the history of our food database updates on our website.
We provide the list of expiring CN labels as a courtesy. These items remain in our database for one year after the CN label expires to accommodate sites that purchase the product when the CN label was current but do not serve the item until a later date.
- Any sponsor or site that wants to know when the CN labeled products they serve are expiring can run a report called Foods Served with CN Labels or Product Formulation Statement.
- If a sponsor would like to manually remove an item with an expired CN label before one year when it is removed from the My Food Program database, then they can do that by making that item an Excluded Food.
- Another option is to turn on the error for Missing CN Label or Product Formulation Statement and set your own expiration date in alignment with your sponsor policy on missing/expired labels.
