Profit Status [Setting]
This setting controls the site's for-profit or non-profit status.
If for-profit is selected for a child care center or adult day care program, we will do a check during claims processing to ensure that the site is eligible to claim. We ensure that at least 25% of the participants included in the claim are in the Free or Reduced income eligibility category. If the site does not qualify to claim, each meal count will have an error on it that states, "Claiming Percentage below 25 Percent"
If non-profit is selected for a child care center or adult day care program, the site does not have to reach 25 percent as free or reduced to be eligible to file a claim. The site is not required to collect income forms and all participants could be claimed at the paid rate.
This cross-check does not apply to family day care homes, afterschool programs, emergency shelters or summer food sites.
To use this setting:
- Click on Site Details from the main site dashboard
- The Profit Status is listed under Required Site Information
- Make your selection
- Scroll to the bottom or top of the page and click Save
