Allow Participant Status “Pending”

My Food Program has four potential "statuses" that a child could be in:

1. Active

2. Pending

3. Incomplete

4. Inactive

Sponsors typically use the status "pending" to mean that the child has been added to My Food Program but they have not received all the paperwork (enrollment form, income form, infant meal notification, etc.). Children that are in "pending" status in My Food Program can still be checked in for attendance and meal counts.

If the status "pending" is enabled for your sponsorship, then new children will automatically be set to "pending" when they are first created. When an enrollment form is entered, the child is automatically changed from "pending" to "active"

IMPORTANT: A child who is in "pending" status will be included in a claim if the sponsor chooses to allow children without enrollment forms to be included in a claim.

Check this box if you are going to also require an enrollment form in order for a child to be included in a claim

Leave this box unchecked if your state agency does not require an enrollment form in order for a child to be included in a claim OR you want to simplify your operations and have fewer participant status options.
