SFSP Participant Program

The SFSP Participant Program is only relevant for summer food sites that need to take meal counts by name. We recommend that the following types of sites turn on the "Camp Site" feature to allow meal counts by name:

  1. Closed Enrolled Site Not Located in a Low-Income Area
  2. Camp Sites
  3. Conditional Non-Congregate Sites

SFSP reimbursement rates are not divided up by income eligibility category. They are only divided up into two categories:

  • Vended or Urban
  • Self-Prep or Rural

We use the SFSP Participant Program to indicate that a child's meals should be included in the claim for reimbursement. Children that are served at a summer site but should not be included in the claim for reimbursement should use the Non-CACFP Participant Program.

Below is summary chart of how to assign Participant Programs for different types of summer sites:

  • Click on Participants & Rosters from the main dashboard
  • Click on the Participants Name
  • Scroll down to the Participant Programs section
  • Click the orange "Add Program" Button

Closed Enrolled Sites Not Located in a Low-Income Area

You will be claiming meals for all children that attend the site. Therefore, you should assign the SFSP program type for all children.

Camp Sites and Conditional Non-Congregate Sites

You will only be claiming meals for children who hare eligible for free or reduced-price school meals

  • If a child is eligible for free or reduced-price school meals, assign them the SFSP program type
