Age Range Definitions

The License Capacity Method determines how we check that a center or provider is within their licensed capacity. There are two methods: License Type and Age Range.


The Age Range method is typically used by child care centers, adult daycares, afterschool programs and emergency shelters.


Sponsors define the age groups (such as infant, toddler, preschool) and then a set capacity for each of those age groups. 


Sponsors can also have limits on combinations of age ranges, for example a limit on infants + toddlers.
