Fluid milk substitute not offered to participant with special dietary need

This feature will assist sponsors in identifying meals or snacks in which a menu is missing a fluid milk substitute when one was needed.

How this Error Gets Triggered


There are six conditions that need to be met in order for this error to appear:


Condition 1


The checkbox in Site Details "Disallow meals if fluid milk substitute is not on the menu and a participant with a fluid milk special dietary need attends the meal. Excludes participants who provide their own fluid milk substitute" is checked.

Conditions 2
A participant has a special diet that is effective on the day of the meal
Condition 3


The special diet indicates that the participant is served milk substitute

Condition 4


The special diet does NOT indicate that the parent or adult day care client provides their own fluid milk substitute. In other words, the center, site or provider is expected to supply the fluid milk substitute.

Condition 5


The participant with the special dietary need was checked in for the meal.


Condition 6


There is no fluid milk substitute on the menu. In other words, the center, site or provider did not indicate that they supplied the fluid milk substitute.

What the Center, Site or Provider Can Do to Resolve this Error

  • Update the Special Diet start date or end date
  • Correct the Special Diet to indicate that it is not related to a fluid milk substitute
  • Correct the Special Diet if the parent/guardian or the adult day care client is providing their own fluid milk substitute
  • Remove the participant meal count
  • Add a fluid milk substitute to the menu to indicate that it was correctly supplied
