Receives Subsidized Care [Setting]

This setting controls whether a participant is designated as receiving benefits under Title XX of the Social Security Act (for child care) or Title XIX/XX (for adult day care participants).
- If this box is checked, the participant will be designated as receiving subsidized care.
- If this box is unchecked, the participant will not be designated as receiving subsidized care.
During claims processing, the system will check the Profit Status of every child care center and adult care program. If the Profit Status is for-profit, the system checks
- If at least 25% of the participants on the Participant Claim Roster are eligible for free or reduced-price meals.
- If less than 25% of the participants on the Participant Claim Roster are eligible for free or reduced-price meals, then the system will check if at least 25% of the participants included in the Participant Claim Roster are designated as Receives Subsidized Care.
- If the for-profit center does not reach the 25% threshold for free and reduced-price-eligible participants or the 25% threshold for participants receiving subsidized care, then all meals will be disallowed with reason Claiming Percentage Below 25 Percent.

To use this setting:
- Click on Participants & Rosters from the main site dashboard.

- Click on the hyperlink name of the participant you would like to edit.
- Scroll down to the checkbox labeled Receives Subsidized Care.
- Add or remove the selection.
- Note that because this checkbox can impact a claim, it is only able to be changed by a sponsor user; it is greyed out for site-level users.
- Users can also upload a file to store in the participant’s profile that documents their eligibility for subsidized care.

- Click the green Save button and you will be sent to the household page for that participant.
