Meals Disallowed for Food Shortage

How it Gets Triggered

This claim error is triggered if the sponsor policy is to disallow for a food shortage and the food production record indicates that not enough of at least one food item was prepared.

If the sponsor policy is to disallow for milk shortages, then this error can be triggered if the food production record indicates that not enough milk was available.

How to Get Details

The Food Shortage Report will list the meals with the shortage and identify the food item or milk that was insufficient.

What to Do Next

Adjust the food production record to indicate the actual amount of food prepared and milk available for the meal service. You can do this for an individual meal or (if allowed by your sponsor) in bulk.

What the Sponsor Can Do

  1. Adjust the sponsor policy on food shortages and/or milk shortages
  2. If the claim is already created and you want to override this error and include the meals in the claim for reimbursement, you can create a manual claim adjustment.
